Duke of Kent School is a co-educational independent day school for pupils aged 3 to 16, located in Ewhurst within the Surrey Hills. Established in 1976 by the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, the school is housed in Woolpit House, a Grade II listed building originally constructed in 1885 for Henry Doulton. Set within extensive grounds and forest land, the school provides a nurturing environment with a focus on academic development alongside music, drama, and sport. Prospective pupils at all entry levels are required to participate in an assessment process. Students joining from Year 3 upwards must sit CAT4 cognitive ability tests, while those entering Year 3 also complete assessments in English and Mathematics. Younger candidates for Reception through Year 2 attend a visit day which includes an informal interview with the Head or the Head of Prep School. Admission decisions are based on the results of these assessments alongside an interview to evaluate each child's academic aptitude and their potential to thrive in the school community.
