About School Data

Our aim is to aggregate as much useful information as possible to help you make an informed decision about schools that meet your needs. However, there are lots of schools and lots of information, so errors are more-than possible.

We want to let you know what you're looking at, and how we collect it, in order to build trust and confidence in the information we're providing.

Before making any consequential decisions, you should always verify information by checking the schools' websites or other authoritative sources or by contacting the schools directly.

How we collect school data

  • We use automated systems (including AI) to discover public-domain information.

  • Highly consequential data (such as school fees) are checked before being served on our site to reduce errors, but some inaccuracies are likely to slip through (as much as we try to minimise them).

  • We regularly review stored data to make sure it is timely and accurate, but it is likely that some information will be out of date from time to time.

So, although we work hard and use sophisticated systems to maximise accuracy, you should always confirm details before making any decisions.

Sources

The primary source of all information will always be the schools' own websites. However, for certain data, we will allow our systems to research other authoritative site such as the Independent School Inspectorate and Independent Schools Council.

We never consider information from unauthoritative sites or directories.

The future

In the near future our aim is to enable schools to "claim" their page and manage their own data. This will be another step in the direction of greater accuracy and more complete information about schools on Indeparent.
