We are in beta
If you’re seeing this, you’re a very early user of Indeparent — and we’re in beta mode.
Indeparent exists to "help parents make one of the most important decisions of their lives, and help schools learn and grow through feedback."
We’re building something ambitious, and we wanted to get it into the hands of real parents as early as possible.
What is beta mode?
Beta mode is the point where the founder decides to stop procrastinating and get it live.
It’s missing a load of features, it may have some embarrassing bugs, and it’s lacking polish — but by calling it a “beta” we hope to be forgiven.
One important reassurance: no shortcuts have been taken on data security. Indeparent has been built with production-grade security from the outset.
What's missing at this stage?
When considering the ultimate vision for Indeparent, quite a lot...
The most glaring gaps at this stage, however, are:
Lack of schools — we're starting in the South East and expanding, but please let us know if you would like to suggest a school to be added.
Your review won't immediately add to the "Community Feedback" for a school. A manual process must be run just to make sure we catch anything unexpected before it's published.
You won't see raw reviews — as above we want to know what to expect before we start publishing raw reviews.
Functionality for schools — we're focussed on parents in the initial release, but we'll be rolling out functionality for schools soon, including the ability to "claim" a school and manage the listing.
The value of beta mode
As a beta user, you are an incredibly important part of our journey.
You will discover the bugs and clumsy processes that we missed in our testing.
You will show us how people use the site, and how we can develop Indeparent to make your experience easier and more valuable.
And — most valuable of all —we would really appreciate it if you could share your thoughts.
Did you find any bugs?
Do you have thoughts about Indeparent as a service?
Do you work for a school and have thoughts about how we can work together?
Anything else, good or bad.
What is the idea for Indeparent, and what's next?
Hopefully, our about us section will shed some light — but if you still have questions then please get in touch.
