Our Values
Last updated: 11/12/2025

Together, these values reflect our belief that feedback builds trust, trust enables growth, and growth benefits every child.

  • Positive Intent

  • Growth-Mindset

  • Visibility & Trust

  • Thought-Leadership

Positive Intent

Feedback is a gift, but only when shared with positive intent.

Detail is the bow on the top of that gift.

Instead of saying that you love the school, take the time to explain why.

Positive feedback is wonderful, but pointing out the areas for improvement is a tremendous gift to the school, because it enables learning and growth.

It’s especially important to share details when providing less-positive feedback. Don't just say "this school is rubbish", explain why it's not a good fit for you. A problem can only be solved when it's properly communicated and understood.

Other parents will also appreciate the detail. You might really dislike the school because they don’t offer water polo as a sport. Other parents might not care about that.

Most parents will love (hopefully) most aspects of the school, but also see room for improvement. Please take the time to comment on the positive and less-positive to give a balanced view.

Growth Mindset

With a growth mindset we graciously, humbly and open-mindedly accept the gift of feedback.

We try to learn in every interaction.

Visibility & Trust

Many parents won’t feel comfortable sharing negative feedback with their schools.

Indeparent acts as a platform for honest feedback. We use automated technology to aggregate and anonymise reviews, allowing you to be honest without fear.

In the spirit of this value we publish the methodology for the Indeparent Score and the AI prompts used to build our AI summaries. We want all of our users to properly understand the information they’re looking at.

(N.B. at this stage (CLOSED BETA 1) we're only summarising across all reviews, but in later releases we'll also publish anonymised raw reviews. We need to build up some data first to make sure we get the moderation right.)

Thought-Leadership

The school journey can be mind-boggling.

Should we tutor for the common entrance? Is setting a good or bad thing? How do we balance discipline and pastoral care in our culture? How can I know I’m getting good value from my school? How do I choose a senior school wisely?

These are complex and prickly subjects that require debate. Indeparent creates a platform for these conversations, and engages thought leaders with a range of perspectives to contribute to that conversation.
