Private Prep Schools in Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire holds a uniquely influential position in the history of English education. Having famously retained the selective grammar school system, the county's independent preparatory sector was among the first to pioneer highly specialised and rigorous 11-plus preparation methodologies. You will find a remarkable diversity of learning environments across the area, ranging from the highly prestigious Caldicott School in Farnham Royal to the more boutique Crown House School in High Wycombe. Buckinghamshire boasts an exceptionally high proportion of elite single-sex prep schools compared to neighbouring home counties, drawing families who seek tailored academic approaches for young boys and girls. Nestled within the picturesque Chiltern Hills, establishments here frequently benefit from expansive grounds, allowing them to champion a balanced curriculum that marries exceptional academic standards with outstanding sporting and outdoor learning opportunities. Offering seamless pathways to both the region's renowned grammar network and world-class senior independent schools, prep schools in Buckinghamshire provide an inspiring and forward-thinking foundation for your child's educational journey.
